Francesca is a litigator with broad experience, and a particular expertise in criminal law. She joined Preston Legal in April 2018, having previously spent 6 years working in the Dispute Resolution department of Appleby. She is known to have a fearless approach to the most challenging of matters.
Francesca was born and educated in Jersey. She obtained her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Bristol. Francesca was admitted as a Barrister in the United Kingdom in March 2016 (currently not practicing), and was admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court in February 2018.
Francesca has been involved in cases across the criminal spectrum, including; serious sexual offences, fraud, drug offences, offences of violence, driving offences and health and safety cases. Over the years she has been involved in many of Jersey’s reported cases in this area, most recently in the case of AG v Quant.
Francesca has experience of Trust disputes, as well as involvement in commercial litigation concerning contract and negligence claims.
Francesca is a member of the Jersey Law Society, the Jersey Family Law Association, and was one of the founding members of the Jersey Junior Lawyers Association in 2014. She is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, and has qualified as an accredited mediator with the ADR Group.
Francesca speaks English, moderate Spanish and basic French.
Francesca loves to surf, ski and run. She is a Commissioned Officer in the Jersey Field Squadron (Royal Engineers) Reserves and a volunteer first aider with St John Ambulance. She also sits on the committee of the Gurkha Welfare Trust Jersey. She is an enthusiastic musician.
